Psa 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Greetings in the name of our dear Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
Some of you may have read my short but brief testimony on how the Lord came and saved me, some 42 years ago, listed on this blog. It’s been a long and arduous pilgrimage to say the least, with many deep valley’s and glorious mountain peeks of learning about God’s ways.
The following article is to give you, the reader and follower of the Lord, an example on how the Lord taught me regarding His Ways and NOT after the ways of man. You see, shortly after the Lord met me and convicted me of my sins, granting me the Grace to see, and the Grace of Repentance invading my life with the seal of the Holy Spirit, I sought out to find a place of worship, to be surrounded by other believers and to grow in the knowledge of the lover of my soul. Being a babe in Christ, I was just so joyfully thrilled that I finally came to know that Jesus Christ was truly REAL and that He did exist! So my walk was according to my desire to learn of Him, the only way I knew at that time, to find a church (Pentecostal) of other like minded believers! And I must say what a learning experience it has come to be!
The following is a diary entry that I wrote back in October 25th, 1999, a time and place where the Lord began to undue all the “Doctrine of Demons” and to bring healing from the deep scares I had suffered from a “home fellowship’ cult I got mixed up in about 2 months after my rebirth. I was involved with this group of loving people, lead by a woman for about 5 years, until a raid by police due to certain abuses which took place by this deluded woman pastor, she was found guilty and served 6 mos in prison for those actions.
Now at the time of this diary entry, I was accepted as a full-time Mature Student, at a University in Canada for it’s Art’s program. I had begun to teach myself on how to creatively paint by taking certain scriptures and creating a painting which would reflect the meaning of those scriptures, and I now see how I was guided by the Lord to do so. I am a highly hyper and energetic person, which I have been since birth, and this painting process assisted me in learning how to calm down, and focus my mind on the subject at hand. It was during this process that the Lord started to give me understanding on how HE desires His Children to learn on His Ways, and the foundation upon which the Church, the Body of Christ, born-again believers was to be built.
So on with the entry, and I hope the Lord will bless this to whomever He desires to grant understanding so that we:
Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Eph 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
October 25, 1999:As I was sitting in my kitchen, I started pondering about a certain sketch I wanted to paint last year, which was a Bible with a cloth, actually it is going to be a velvet of purple crimson wrapped in a swirl, holding in its center a beautiful pearl, and the cloth ends up forming a bible…..then the thought how art needs to have sharp and clear definitions, so that one knows exactly what they are seeing….then it dawned on me, that is how the Gospel should be presented, clear and concise, true to form. God’s form, for there will be no mistaking what it represents! It needs to be clearly portrayed as the author wishes it to be!
That is how art should be, set boundaries so that it reveals exactly what it is suppose to represent. When art is abstract and open to personal interpretation you will have mixed interpretations and no one will see exactly the same thing, and will be informed, “not to worry” about exacting what it stands for, for all interpretation is acceptable, and that is where confusion begins. If the Gospel, like art, is without a set standard then confusion and chaos is accepted as the norm! People will not receive a clear picture, therefore it will be open for varying interpretation and deception!
As in Genesis, the beginning was with out form, darkness was upon the face of the deep, chaos was the norm, until the Lord God Almighty started setting, or I should say, creating set boundaries, such as in Gen 1:3 ” And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” Then in Gen 1:4 ” And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.” Here He sets the first boundaries. A pattern is begun, it is the beginning of the end of chaos! A void, which is nothingness, is being made into a shape, creating is taking place, emptiness is lifelessness, light was the beginning of life, and that light is then given a distinction between the darkness. Light is named Day, and Darkness is named night, Gen 1:5 “Gen 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.” A beginning, two distinct and separate forms are established, with it’s own characteristics, but yet considered as one! As in art, light and shade, they contrast and compliment each other, but are separate entities within themselves, they form something together. Form is created.
“Gen 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”(and water’s flow freely, and if no boundaries will just flow everywhere it desires, bringing good or bad effects). Again, boundaries are formed, division is established. A difference is created.
Is that not like paint, which is liquid? We place a colour within a boundary, and another colour within another boundary. They are both of the same substance, but the boundaries keep their colour distinction and do not run together, yet they are one in a created form!
That was the end of my entry, and I do think that the following scripture sums it up quite nicely, actually….the Lord was teaching me:
Isa 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
Isa 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
This was the beginning of the Lord desiring me to understand, that He was going to teach me upon His Ways, all by God Given Grace, here a little, there a little, all in due time, according to His perfect will. The Lord in July of 1999, gave me these words, which I have never forgotten, for they are etched upon the tablets of my heart:
“Into His Fullness, we most assuredly will grow, as we learn daily, by Grace, how to lay our lives low”.
All the Glory is given unto my Lord, for the edifying and building up of His Saints for HIS Glory and purpose!”
In His Eternal Love,
Cal Teichmann
What a blessing. Thank God…
